Anyone here familiar with waverunners / Jet Skis / seadoos / PWC /etc. ?

I'm looking to buy a waverunner and I stumbled upon two 1997 Kawasaki STX 1100's. They look decent from what I've heard thus far. One of them has 100 hours and the other has 80 hours. He flushed them after every use. He claims to have had no problems with them, but I'll see when I go to look at them. Anyway, I'm familiar with regular boats, but not PWC's. So I'm wondering how many hours is too much? Will these things last or am I just going to be throwing $5500 out the window? Of course I'm going to have my marine mechanic inspect them before I buy, but before I spend $100 + to have them inspected, do you think this is a good deal? Thanks

Flushing is nice but some don't flush enough and salt water beats the hell out of fittings, bolts, gaskets, and especially the electrical system. Check the starter button for corrosion, battery terminals, etc. are a hint to maintenance. Kawi's are good ski's, Yamaha is the best for the dollar, Seadoos are a money pit polaris ski's are worthless. Does the deal come with the trailer? Check inside of hull for stree cracks by filling the hull with water(not enough to get in the engine) but enough to have the water reveal stress cracks. Check the props for chipped edges. If they are chipped up he was starting it in areas with gravel and was careless, and the chipped edges hurt performance and will need to be addressed. Also check the streering system for wear & tear on the cable/fittings-cracks-corrosion.
